This Place Is a Zoo!!

The title of this post is what I normally feel like at home.  Especially since Andrew Holt came into the world!!  Either I’m just to old for this now or he really does require 3 times the attention that Katie and Josh ever seemed to need.  I keep thinking in a few months he’s going to easier; but it just never seems to happen.  But I love the booger more than I can express.  And thank God that all three of my kids are healthy (and pretty cute too!!).

We really did go to the zoo this week though.  We haven’t been in over two years; and the zoo is dirt cheap here in Santiago.  The kids had a blast and we did too.  Andrew called every animal a “hossy” or “caca” (which I won’t even tell you what that means in Spanish – but it’s the name he uses for dogs…ok, I can’t resist…it’s what the dogs leave behind that stinks so badly).  There is no such thing as animal control here in Santiago (they think it’s cruel – but I think it’s more cruel to let sick mangy dogs die on the streets), so there are dogs EVERYWHERE (I’ve actually gone from loving dogs to hating them in my time here in Chile).  Everytime Andrew sees a dog, he yells the word for #2 in Spanish.  So naturally, all of our church people love to point at the dogs on the street and say to Andrew, “What’s that Andrew?”.

Katie loved the zoo too, except for the smells.  She is annoying just like me!!  It’s crazy how the things that drive me nuts about my kids mostly are things that they emulate in me.  But there is no doubt about it, Katie is a carbon copy of mother; and that is her goal.  God help me to be the person I desire her to be!!!

I’m a blogger now!!

Realizing that I’m slowly somehow losing touch with almost everyone I really care about, and tired of hearing everyone’s news from my husband :) , I’m going to try the blogging thing.  More to come when something interesting (or not so interesting) happens.
